John was the son of Robert G. Jordan & Elizabeth Fetterhoff. He was born in Young (now McCalmont) Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
John's date of death is estimated. A newspaper article dated 13 Jan 1917 indicates that he had disappeared the previous Saturday and was feared dead. A follow-up article on 13 Feb 1917 stated that his body had been found near the Methodist Church in Sportsburg.
He married Minnie Jane Wachob, 23 May 1889, Brookville, Jefferson Co., PA.
They had nine children: James Clair "Clair;" Mina Belle (Blose); Ulrie Dee "Dee;" Mary Erda (Smith); Verner F.; Gladys Margaret (Kerr); Velma A. (Snyder, Richards); Mervin Walter; & Alice Catherine (Stiver).
After John's death, Minnie married Clarence A. Bargerstock.
